I was almost totally in shadow at the Ramada while sunlight hit the
distant mountains and the valley below me,
and the shadow of Tucson Mountain arrowed across the land.
It was a scene of incredible beauty.

I'm continuing to play with thick paint and, more or less, broken color. Sticking with fruit for the time being. We'll see how it goes. Top photo here is "Marbleized Bosc Pear" - 6 x 6 oil on Arches paper for oils; the bottom one, "Deux D'Anjou" is 6 x 6 oil on canvas panel.

"Color-Breaking" - 6 x 6 oil on canvas panel. Several months ago I watched Ann Feldman's video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eujuEhbVqXo) on ways of interpreting your subjects and got really excited. I'm finally trying out her various methods and they are just as exciting as I thought they'd be. (Thank you, Ann!) This is the first of several paintings I have done and am doing; since it's citrus season, you'll be seeing a lot of oranges.
