"Coyote"

Recently finished this coyote and have been letting it
sit for a while to make sure I didn't need or want
to tweak it somewhere.
8" x 10" palette knife oil on canvas panel

Here's the photo I worked from.

I've decided I want to do another, larger,
painting as well. Enlarged the coyote and have it
set up on a 10" x 10" canvas panel, with
less background. Can't wait to start.
I saw him again last week on my walk,
but my camera was in the shop.

Looking Back

"Cruz #2"

$160

Another pose by my favorite mountain lion.
Palette knife oil painting on 8 x 8 inch gallery-wrap canvas,
so there's no framing needed.

Barn Owl

"Barn Owl" - 8 x 6 on stretched canvas

SOLD

I frequently visit the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and one of the highlights there is something called Raptor Free Flight. Harris Hawks, this barn owl, another owl and a raven all fly free and have been trained to swoop in and grab a juicy tidbit (probably a dead mouse) from the handler. This one, with its lovely heart-shaped face, was thoughtful enough to pose for an instant so I could get a picture. It's always a thrill to watch them.
